Blogging. What is it?

well the internet defines a blog as “A blog (a truncation of “weblog”) is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text” (source)

so the conventional blog these days has a pretty layout with pretty picture and some pretty words sprawled out to entice you visually and verbally. Here, its not. My intention is to write raw material, just that. Raw thoughts, raw emotions. Like it or leave it. In case you cant tell, I am not an expert blogger. Perhaps I will be more refined as time passes and I “blog” more often. You are probably wondering why induce a slightly cynical and sarcastic tone, well its because I am.

Why blog?

Well, I started out as a younger naive journalist and wanted to pursue truth and be an upholder of justice. I soon learnt that, if I wanted to expose all the greed and evils of my immediate society, I probably would die. So, I like life, sometimes not, but most of the time yes. I decided that upholding the truth is scary business and as I mentioned it was a naive initiative.

I soon learnt the meaning of yellow journalism and how it is applied basically everywhere in the journalistic world. Write what the boss wants or get fired, or worse. And then, you start wondering who is the boss of the boss…and whats the underlying agenda? (told you I was cynical) Now, with blogs I don’t have a boss (except for the silent creepy big brother tracking and watching us all) so I am going to write what ever the fuck I want.
